6.1 general概述
The I&C design process aims to specify the necessary I&C facilities to allow all the functions allocated to the I&C (known as the I&C functions) to be fulfilled in accordance with the general plant and safety objectives, and the role assigned to man and to machine. I&C设计过程的目标是指定需要的I&C设施，使得能够按照总体的电站和安全目标、以及分配给人员和机器的角色，履行分配给I&C的所有功能（称为I&C功能）。
An I&C function ensures the contribution of the I&C in the achievement of a functional (safety and/or operational) objective. Typically it is a function used to control, operate and/or monitor a defined part of the process.
