My specialist subjects:
I have a wide scope of knowledge in numerous fields including multimedia, instruction manuals, geography, general medicine, software and science, and particularly ornithology. Residence in Spain for several years has given me a sound knowledge of the language, including slang terms, as well as of the smaller details of Spanish culture.
Recent projects include: Academic articles on global warming, carbon footprints and renewable energies. Ongoing translation of documentation and exhibition labels for a Spanish science museum. Catalogue of cements, mortars and other building materials. Documents on shoe design and manufacture. Articles on marine botany.
My background: I have completed an MSc in Translation and Technology at the University of Heriot Watt (Edinburgh), passing both the diploma and the dissertation stages with distinction. I also hold a BA in Spanish Language and Literature Major with French Minor - University of Leeds, UK. Extensive period of residence in Spain. Experience in technical (multimedia) and business translation, especially instruction manuals. I have hands on experience of working in a business environment in Spain.
